This month witnessed another event involving Mentor2.0 partner organizations. The New Education Forum Krakow, held on the 13th and 14th of March in Poland, was dedicated to highly regarded topics in today’s education landscape: the necessity for economic education, the role of artificial intelligence, and the adaptation of education to the changes in the labor market.
The conference and networking session commenced with opening remarks from Jacek Majchrowski, Mayor of the City of Kraków, and Joanna Bochniarz, General Director of the Centre for Innovative Education (CIE).
“Exposure to economic concepts enables students to analyze and interpret information, promoting a deep understanding of decision-making processes. By engaging in real-world economic scenarios, students develop the ability to make informed decisions. The long-term economic benefits, in turn, help students navigate personal finance, investments, and in making more informed career choices,” stated CIE, the organization which hosted NEF Krakow.
The panel discussion also encompassed such topics as adaptive learning platforms, simulations, virtual assistants and chatbots, data analysis and visualization tools, natural language processing (NLP), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR), and the role of all these tools in modern education. Simultaneously, the panelists underscored the imperative need to align education with the evolving demands of the labor market, influenced by technological advancements.
The event included the presentation of the digital Platform Mentor 2.0 for teachers. This was conducted by Maria Urbańska (CIE) and Stavros Milionis (KEAN). The concept of the platform resonates well with the topics of NEF, as it develops high-quality support pedagogies and innovative digital techniques for educators.
“Modeled on the European Digital Education Hub, NEF Kraków promotes cross-sector collaboration, identifies and shares good practices, and supports the education sector by facilitating access to tools, frameworks, guidelines, technical expertise, and research in the field of digital education,” CIE resumes.
